The Odisha FC Women got their maiden IWL campaign back on track by beating former champions Eastern Sporting Union 4-0 in a crucial encounter. They are now set to clash with Churchill Brothers FC Goa at the Shahibaug Police Stadium on May 5.

Churchill Brothers also are new to the IWL, having won the Goa Women’s League in the previous season to secure their spot. Despite their eagerness to prove themselves, the team has faced a tough start in the tournament, losing three consecutive games. Their first match saw them suffer a crushing 0-6 defeat to Sethu FC, followed by a 1-2 loss to CRPF FC. In their most recent game, Kickstart FC delivered a devastating blow with a score of 10-0. It’s a challenging start, but Churchill Brothers will be looking to turn things on tomorrow’s fixture.

The Juggernauts got their maiden IWL campaign back on track by beating former champions Eastern Sporting Union 4-0 in a crucial encounter. Crispin Chettri spoke to AIFF before the game and said, “Churchill Brothers is a good team with talented players who won the Goa Women’s League championship. Although they are participating in the Hero IWL for the first time. Every game is the same for us, we are going into this fixture with a strong mentality and we will give our hundred percent in tomorrow’s game.”

The match between Odisha FC and Churchill Brothers promises to be an exciting encounter. While Odisha FC is riding high on confidence, Churchill Brothers will be eager to turn their fortunes around and secure their first win in the tournament.
