Oliver Frankenbach to leave Eintracht Frankfurt board!

During the regular board meeting last week, finance committee member Oliver Frankenbach announced that he would be ceasing his duties at Eintracht Frankfurt as of June 30, 2025. In so doing, Frankenbach is exercising a right of termination included in the contract, that was set to expire on 30 June 2026. The 56-year-old has been working for Eintracht Frankfurt since July 1, 1998, and has been a member of the board of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG since September 1, 2015.

“I informed my board colleagues and the members of the executive board some time ago that I am preparing an early departure from my responsibilities,” said Frankenbach of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG finance committee. “Working for over a quarter of a century in the financial department of such a lively and dynamic club, the majority of which in positions of responsibility, has been a great privilege for me but one which requires all of my efforts. As such, I am now looking to explore new horizons and would like to devote more time to my private activities. I therefore informed those above me of my intentions at the earliest opportunity and have now made this a formal decision, so that the club may have enough time to find a successor. Until then, I will continue to carry out my duties to the full extent. I would already like to express my gratitude and say how proud I am of what I have been able to achieve over the past 26 years with my colleagues on the board, the members of the executive board, the shareholders and all of the various members of staff.”

“Oliver Frankenbach informed me of his plans well in advance and of his intention to cease his activities on June 30, 2025, giving us on the executive board the opportunity to take our time in finding a successor for him,” said Philip Holzer, chairman of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supervisory board. “I am very grateful to him that he will be carrying out his duties right up until the last day with his usual high levels of commitment and reliability. At an appropriate time, we will doubtless find the right context to pay full tribute to his outstanding achievements and services to Eintracht Frankfurt. He could not be held in higher regard both at Eintracht Frankfurt and throughout the Bundesliga.”
