Palhinha signs new Fulham FC deal!

Fulham FC have announced that João Palhinha has signed a contract extension with the club.

Palhinha has committed his future at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2028, with a Club option to extend by a further 12 months.

Speaking after signing, Palhinha said: “I feel happy. A lot of history happened these few weeks for me, you heard a lot of things about my future, but I’m just focused on my work at Fulham.”

“I always have 100 per cent commitment with this Club, I have all the respect for the Club, for the fans. Since the first day, they supported me a lot, and me and my family felt this since the first moment that I arrived here.”

“I will give everything that I have. It was always like that, on the field, outside of the field, in our dressing room with my teammates.”

“I have a lot of respect for everyone here in Fulham and I am ready to start again, to give all my best, and I want to achieve good things.”

Tony Khan added, “I’m happy to announce the contract extension of João Palhinha to 2028, with an option to extend to 2029.”

“We all know what a fantastic player he is and that his contribution to the team has been immense. I’m very appreciative of how hard João fights for us on the pitch, and pleased that we’ve agreed to a new contract.”

The midfielder arrived at Fulham FC in July 2022, and needed no time at all settling in, promptly establishing himself as a firm fan favourite.

Winning more tackles than any other player in the Premier League last season – by some margin – Palhinha was also a considerable threat at the other end of the pitch as he chipped in with four goals, two of which finished in the top three of our Goal of the Season vote.

His consistently high levels of performance throughout the campaign also saw him named Player of the Season.

João Palhinha’s progress was curtailed slightly going into 2023/24 after picking up a shoulder injury in the States, but he marked his first start of the season with a dramatic late equaliser to earn Fulham a point away to Arsenal last month.
