Participants benefit from Myanmar FF Safeguarding Workshop!

In observance of International Women’s Day, the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) organised the MFF Safeguarding Workshop on March 7, 2024.

Attended by 60 participants, ranging from coaches, Physical Education teachers, referees, as well as players, the workshop aimed to shed light on the integral role that safeguarding plays in nurturing a safe environment for youngsters to enjoy football, as well as other sports.

Led by the MFF’s Director of International Relations and Child Safeguarding Officer Mr. Si Thu Win, the Federation organised a series of activities and seminars which enabled the participants to be empowered with the essential knowledge and skills that are necessary to foster a positive and secure football ecosystem, while also striving to extend the reach of the beautiful game across the country.

In tandem with the global message of International Women’s Day, which celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the world, the programme included a series of discussions that offered a deep dive into the nuances of safeguarding measures, laying special focus on children, women and vulnerable adults.

By providing the participants with a forum to take part in debates and freely engage in insightful dialogues, the workshop proved to be an excellent instance of the MFF’s concerted efforts towards building an inclusive and respectful community.

Additionally, with the Federation’s ambition to ensure the implementation of safeguarding practices across all levels of football, the MFF also announced plans to launch a series of educational programmes, thereby continuing to harness the unparalleled power of football to usher positive change in the country.
