Punjab FC visits the Education First Society & serves food to slum children!

Former I-League champions Punjab FC today visited the Education First Society in Sector 25D in Chandigarh and served food to slum children. The visit was organized as a social responsibility initiative by Punjab FC, aimed at celebrating the spirit of spreading love and happiness among the less fortunate sections of the society.

In addition to the senior squad, the staff of the senior team was also present. The whole squad reached the Education First Society at 11:30am and had interaction with the children present there. The squad also distributed some gifts to the children prior to serving food.

“We at Punjab FC, believe that everyone deserves to have access to fresh, hygienic and nutritious food, no matter who you are or which part of society you belong to. We are committed to taking our social responsibility seriously and do good in our community. As a football club, we have our duties towards our community and our ‘fight hunger’ program is part of this initiative. We will continue to venture beyond our core football activities and engage & serve the community at large. We hope that by uniting today to contribute to a cause like this, we can really make a difference, no matter how small” said Punjab FC director Ranjit Bajaj.

The club conducts several social engagement initiatives. It also runs PAWS – a shelter for street animals taking care of injured animals and helping to find them a lovable home through adoption. Moreover, Punjab FC had recently organized a blood donation camp. In addition, the club is also associated with NGOs working in the field of disability, education, and healthcare.
