Rafael Borre leaves Eintracht Frankfurt for SC Internacional!

The forward Rafael Borré is leaving Eintracht Frankfurt and will join Brazilian top-flight side Sport Club Internacional by the summer.

Rafael Santos Borré came to Frankfurt from Argentinian club River Plate in summer 2021 and was an important part of the team that won the UEFA Europa League in 2022. The Colombian scored in the quarterfinal second leg at FC Barcelona (3-2) as well as in the semifinal second leg against West Ham United (1-1).

However, he’ll be most remembered for his contribution in the final against Rangers FC in Seville, where the Colombia international netted the equaliser in regulation time before converting the decisive fifth penalty in the shootout to clinch victory. The striker also registered 10 goals and eight assists in 63 Bundesliga appearances for the Eagles.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at SV Werder Bremen, where he’s scored four goals in 14 games so far this season. Borré will return to South America by the summer at the latest, where he’ll be reunited with former Eintracht teammate Lucas Alario, who also recently signed for the three-time Brazilian champions.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche said: “Rafael Borré will always be associated with the 2022 Europa League win and will therefore always be a part of Eintracht history. We wish him well for his professional and personal future.”
