Rafael Borre leaves Werder Bremen to join Internacional!

Rafael Borré is to leave SV Werder Bremen with immediate effect to join Sport Club Internacional after the Brazilian club agreed terms with Eintracht Frankfurt for his transfer. The 28-year-old had been loaned to Werder from the Hessian side in the summer.

“We’ve made it clear in recent weeks that we would have to wait and see what our situation was like at the end of February before we could ascertain whether an early transfer would be viable for us. That’s now the case, which is why we’ve agreed to the transfer,” explained head of professional football Clemens Fritz, who went on to thank Borré for his contributions in a Werder shirt over the past few months. “The last few months certainly haven’t been easy for Rafa. He only joined late on in the transfer window, and then went away with the national team. In spite of that, he put in some good performances straight away and earned the team important points. Even after the confirmation that he would be leaving us in the summer, he has remained fully focused on Werder. We therefore wish him all the best in Brazil.”

Borré joined Werder Bremen on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt on deadline day at the end of the summer transfer window. He made 17 Bundesliga appearances for Werder, scoring four goals.
