Registrations for India’s biggest private youth football league in Mumbai begins!

It’s that time of the year again! Online registrations for Mumbai’s Vile Parle Premier League (VPPL) Season 7, one of the biggest private youth football leagues in India, have begun and end on December 20, 2016.

VPPL is an enthralling and mind boggling football tournament whose main motto is to promote football among the masses and reach out to the younger generation. The organizers of the League are of the age group 15-24 hence following the concept of ‘For the youngsters, by the youngsters’. After six successful seasons with thousands of participants and flocking crowds at the venue, season 7 will be taking place in May 2017.

Last season saw over 1,200 players registering for the league and Siddarth Sabapathy, who is one of the founders of VPPL, is expecting it to grow even further as he said, “The league is growing every year. More and more youngsters are wanting to play. We are a very football savvy and passionate group of youngsters who have the aim to develop football in the city. We are sure the league will be a grand success and better than any of the previous seasons.”

The league also acts as a scouting platform for I-League club Mumbai FC as the best crop of players earn a chance to trial for the biggest football club in the city of Mumbai.

Mumbai FC Head of Youth Development, Kundan Chandra, opined, “The expectations from this league are high as there are a number of players participating. With so many players coming together it provides an opportunity to uncover the city’s most talented youngsters.”
