Sanju Pradhan signs one-year contract extension with Mumbai City FC!

Indian Super League franchise Mumbai City FC have announced that midfielder Sanju Pradhan has signed a one-year contract extension with the Islanders until May 2019.

Pradhan joins Amrinder Singh, Pranjal Bhumij, Davinder Singh and Kunal Sawant in the list of players to have signed extensions with the club, along with Lucian Goian and Sehnaj Singh who have a year left on their current contracts.

The Sikkimese midfielder was picked up by the Islanders in the Indian Super League Draft in July 2017 and made his debut for the club in the league season opener against Bengaluru FC in November 2017. Pradhan made 19 appearances over the course of the season, missing just a single game, and was a hugely influential figure across the midfield for Alexandre Guimaraes’ side.

“I’m very happy and excited to have signed on with this wonderful club for one more year. This past season, we’ve had our share of ups and downs but the ambition and the intent is there. That’s what made this decision so much easier for me. I have enjoyed every minute I’ve spent in the Blue of Mumbai City so far I’m looking forward to giving my everything and hope we can give our city and our fans a reason to celebrate!” said the 28 year old after putting pen to paper.

Mumbai City FC CEO Indranil Das Blah said, “We are happy to have Sanju on our side for yet another season. He’s one of the most versatile players in the country and one of our top performers. He’s professional, committed to the cause and his performances on the pitch corroborate his dedication. We’re sure he will be an integral part of the set-up at the club in the future too.”
