Schalke 04’s Jordan Larsson makes FC Copenhagen move permanent!

Just a few days after celebrating a league and cup double in Denmark, FC Copenhagen have now agreed a deal with FC Schalke 04 to make Jordan Larsson’s loan move to the club permanent. The transfer fee is undisclosed.

“Jordan joined us on a free last summer. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out in Gelsenkirchen as we had all hoped. That’s why we felt a loan move back in January was the right move for both the player and the club,” said sporting director André Hechelmann. “Jordan has progressed well in Denmark, leading to the club informing us that they would like to keep hold of him. The agreement is very beneficial for us financially both in terms of the transfer fee and reducing our wage bill. We would like to wish Jordan all the best for the future.”

The Swede began his footballing career in FC Barcelona’s youth academy. He joined Swedish side Högaborgs BK in 2006 and then Helsingborgs IF in 2014, before arriving in the Netherlands two and a half years later. After twelve months with NEC Nijmegen, he returned to his home country to play for IFK Norrköping.

In 2019, Larsson made the switch to Spartak Moscow, a spell that ended with a three-month loan at AIK beginning in April 2022, before his contract with the Russian club was dissolved. The son of legendary striker Henrik Larsson, Jordan made a total of eleven appearances in the Bundesliga for S04.
