Seriton Fernandes extends his FC Goa contract until summer 2022!

Indian Super League franchise FC Goa have announced the contract extension of their defender Seriton Fernandes by three years until summer 2022.

26 year old Seriton Fernandes is a youth product of Dempo SC. He made his top level debut with Laxmi Prasad SC in 2014 before moving to Churchill Brothers. He spend time on loan and then on contract with Sporting Clube de Goa before returning to Churchill Brothers.

In 2017, FC Goa signed Seriton Fernandes after a strong I-League campaign. He played in 19 out of 20 matches in ISL-4 before playing in all of FC Goa’s 21 matches in ISL-5 and then lifted the Super Cup trophy with the Gaurs, his first silverware with the club.

“Goa is home for me. Playing for the people and wearing the crest is something I really take pride in. To have the opportunity to play for the club is every Goan boy’s dream. And now to have the chance to extend my stay here was something I couldn’t say no to,” stated a delighted Seriton after putting pen to paper.

FC Goa president Akshay Tandon said, “Seriton has become a key player for us in the last 2 seasons. Watching him evolve into this player has been pure joy. His story inspires us to keep developing local talent. We are lucky to have him and grateful to continue this journey together for many years to come.”

Seriton Fernandes is the third player after Hugo Boumous and Carlos Pena to sign contract extensions with FC Goa.
