Sevilla FC was once again the main talking point for a new edition of Rehabilitaverde, a forum created by the Council of Sevilla and the Official Group of Building Engineers and Technical Architects of the city to deal with everything concerning energetic rehabilitation. An issue where the club has an important role to play. This has been led by the Director of Operations, Carlos Venegas, who made a presentation on Wednesday about the advanced efficiency of resources at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios.
During 2022, Sevilla FC made good use of a sustainable water management in their extensive installations near the Utrera Motorway. Through the constriction of a tank the size of 1000 cubic metres, collected rainwater from the Jesús Navas Stadium, which would all be reused. Moreover, a special pitch was used that could save almost a third of the water used, meaning Sevilla FC has been able to save around 75% of water consumption on all of their pitches.
Sevilla FC has been successful in showing a sustainable approach both at a local and international level. This was recognised as the club was invited to participate and exhibit its model for water management in the ‘Climate Action Sevilla Summit’, one of the most important international congresses about climate change and the so called blue and green economy, which took place in the city in 2022. At the same time, various media outlets have made reference to the measures introduced by Sevilla FC at the training ground.
