Solera, Horan, Ovalle headline 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup Quarterfinals Best XI!

The quarterfinals of the 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup are now complete following Sunday night’s results.

There were many excellent individual performances over the course of the weekend, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.

Goalkeeper

Daniela Solera, Costa Rica – Solera made six saves and seven clearances, while conceding only one goal in Costa Rica’s narrow 1-0 extra time defeat to Canada.

Defenders

Jenna Nighswonger, United States – Nighswonger found the back of the net for the second U.S. goal on the night. She also completed 78 percent of her passes.

Cristina Ferral, Mexico – Ferral played almost a perfect game in Mexico’s 3-2 win versus Paraguay, completing 32 of 33 passes, while making a steal and taking two shots.

Vanessa Gilles, Canada – Composed like always, Gilles completed 95 percent of her passes, made a steal and took four shots in Canada’s 1-0 extra time win against Costa Rica.

Karen Luna, Mexico – Luna continued her exceptional W Gold Cup with a fantastic goal from two shots, plus 33 passes completed.

Midfielders

Jessie Fleming, Canada – Fleming was a rock in the middle of the park for Canada, completing 68 of 79 passes while supplying the assist on the lone Canada goal.

Lindsey Horan, United States – Horan was a leader throughout, calmly converting a penalty to give the U.S. an early lead, finishing with four shots and 74 percent of passes completed.

Yasmim, Brazil – Brazil reached the semifinals thanks to a 5-1 win over Argentina in which Yasmim scored a goal and completed 40 passes.

Forwards

Jacqueline Ovalle, Mexico – Ovalle had two goals from five shots, plus a steal in 97 minutes of action for Mexico.

Evelyne Viens, Canada – Viens was the hero for Canada by scoring the winning goal in extra time on a perfectly-placed header. She also completed 67 percent of her passes.

Bia Zaneratto, Brazil – Zaneratto had a pair of goals to pace Brazil to victory against Argentina. She also finished the night with an assist and a steal.
