Sreenidi Deccan FC aim to bounce back against Real Kashmir!

Having suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat to Mohammedan Sporting Club in the previous round of I-League games, Sreenidi Deccan FC are aiming to bounce back as they face Real Kashmir FC at the TRC Stadium on Thursday. The Snow Leopards have lost just once at home and have not conceded a goal in their last three matches but the Deccan Warriors are three points above them in the standings.

Sreenidi Deccan FC head coach Carlos Vaz Pinto and midfielder Ibrahim Sissoko addressed the media virtually via Zoom ahead of the match. “Real Kashmir is a good team and we know it is difficult to come here and get results but we are well prepared for the same,” said Vaz Pinto. “It will be a different story to last year’s match as the circumstances are different but one thing that remains the same is the quality of Real Kashmir’s team.”

Sreenidi Deccan FC won only 13 points away from home in the entirety of last season and the Deccan Warriors are only three short of equalling that tally having played less than half the campaign. “If we defeat Real Kashmir tomorrow, we would already equalled our away points tally from the last campaign so there is no pressure on us,” said Vaz Pinto. “Real Kashmir drew their last game at home so if there is any pressure, it will be on them.”

Sissoko has appeared in all of Sreenidi Deccan FC’s matches this season and the Ivorian is confident about facing the Snow Leopards. “We have trained well and despite the weather conditions, we are ready for the challenge,” he said.

The match will kick off at 2pm IST on Thursday but there will be no live telecast.
