Successful VfB Stuttgart visit to the USA!

The VfB Football School held several camps and coaching courses in Texas and New Jersey. The aim of these activities is to foster the development of children’s and youth football in the USA as well as further strengthening international relations.

Four months after the first team’s USA tour, VfB Stuttgart have again been flying the flag for German football in the United States over the last two and a half weeks. Together with Forza Campiones VIP, the VfB Football School carried out training camps and coaching courses for 11 days in Austin and San Antonio, which built on the successful start in November 2022. More than 120 youngsters and local coaches took up the offer from VfB. “The VfB coaches did a brilliant job and delivered training that’s not commonplace in our region. VfB have gained a lot of new fans and friends, and made an incredibly good impression here,” said David Dinh, founder of Forza Campiones VIP, who supported VfB as a regional partner.

From Texas the VfB delegation travelled on to Trenton in New Jersey, where the German American Kickers (GAK) are based. The club is an important partner for VfB in the area of football development in the USA. As part of this collaboration, regular digital training sessions take place via video conference. This time, the VfB Football School completed several training session and further education courses with the individual GAK year groups and coaches in person for a week.

Strengthening international perception

“Our children had great fun in the training and were able to learn a lot of new things,” said Paul Bette, president of the German American Kickers. “We were very much looking forward to the visit and the children could hardly wait to train with the VfB coaches. All the digital sessions are also very well attended and excite our participants.”

“The feedback and the demand for our offering are thoroughly positive,” said Rouven Kasper, director of marketing and sales at VfB Stuttgart. “Our concept of regularly establishing a presence in the USA and other regions of the world that are of interest to VfB, together with our cooperation partners, is a success. Last year, we started to roll out our Football School internationally in both the USA and Asia. We will continue along this path. It strengthens the international perception of VfB enormously, inspires people worldwide and is a contribution that we as VfB are making to the internationalisation of the Bundesliga.”
