Playing for Bengaluru FC was always the big dream for Ashique Kuruniyan and in this segment with Ankush Sharma, the BFC winger shares what made him join his dream club!
Bengaluru FC has been one of ISL and Indian Football’s most consistent and successful clubs. The club boasts of adding six trophies to their cabinet in six years and have really set the benchmark in the footballing circuit both on and off the field. The club has always had a good campaign, always challenging for honours either in league or cup competitions. Such a club, is bound to be top on the list of clubs that footballers aspire to play for. This was the case for Ashique too.
The young footballer showed promise earlier on joining an ISL team at a young age. He was also loaned out by the club to join the LaLiga side, Villareal C. After three years at FC Pune City, the winger got the opportunity to join the Blues, a moment that surely meant a lot to Ashique. He recalls the advice that his senior Anas Edathodika gave him, which made him want to take up the offer even more. The winger grabbed this golden opportunity with both hands and one season later, he is still proud and happy to be part of, as he calls it “the best professional football club in India”!
