Tahiti celebrate Olympic and Paralympic Week!

Over 1200 kids gave football a go at the Fédération Tahitienne de Football (FTF) headquarters as part of the Olympic and Paralympic Week between January 24-29.

Olympic and Paralympic Week aims to promote sports among young people, while raising awareness around disabilities and the importance of inclusion.

The annual event was facilitated by FTF in collaboration with Fédération Polynésienne des Sports Adaptés et Handisport (FPSAH) and saw the mixture of kids with and without disabilities take part in different football activities.

FPSAH Technical Manager Jérémie Le Fort said the event was a huge success in its second year.

“We received excellent feedback from kids and supervisors from our associations and schools,” Le Fort said.

“Herenui, a young autistic boy, told us in a few words how much he enjoyed himself and expressed his feelings of appreciation.

“We have been working alongside FTF on various opportunities to integrate people with disabilities. We are satisfied with how the week turned out and look forward to our third edition next year.”
