LALIGA, through its educational department LALIGA BUSINESS SCHOOL, is pleased to announce the third edition of the ‘Global Players Program’ course for active LALIGA players in collaboration with AFE (Spanish Footballers’ Association). After two previous years, this COURSE strengthens its position as a solid educational option for professional footballers, in line with LALIGA’s commitment to training as an essential part of the sports industry.
After the success of previous editions, LALIGA is once again launching this program, the first among the major European leagues, which further demonstrates its commitment to the training and welfare of footballers, by offering them the tools and knowledge to guide their professional careers away from the field of play.
LALIGA aims to help players understand the sports industry from every angle, to reflect on the opportunities and paths they may choose after their retirement from the game, and to equip them with the necessary tools to tackle these new challenges.
Over a period of five months, the players who decide to take part in the Global Players Program will have access to 8 webinars focused on the knowledge of their working environment, with the aim of familiarising themselves with the main areas of development within the sports industry. Additionally, this online training course will be supplemented with three days of face-to-face sessions at LALIGA’s headquarters after the season has ended, thus bringing the third edition to a close.
José Moya, Director of LALIGA BUSINESS SCHOOL stated that, “The Global Players Program is a unique initiative within the sports industry and an opportunity for players to understand what options they can focus their careers on after their playing days are over”. He added that, with this project, LALIGA “seeks to place the footballer at the centre and that is why the content, format and schedules have been adapted so they can get the most out of the course.”
