Thomas Delaney joins 1899 Hoffenheim on loan!

Thomas Delaney has joined Bundesliga side 1899 TSG Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season. The 31-year-old midfielder arrives in the Kraichgau from Spanish top-flight club Sevilla FC.

“Thomas has proven at all of his previous clubs that he is a true leader. With his style of play and his leadership qualities, he brings important elements that we’re unfortunately slightly lacking at the moment due to injuries, among other things,” explained TSG director of football Alexander Rosen. “His time at Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund has taught him exactly how the Bundesliga works and what is needed to be successful in it.”

“I’m delighted to be here in Hoffenheim and to be back in the Bundesliga,” said Thomas Delaney, adding: “I want to play my part in helping us make TSG successful again.”

Thomas Delaney made 107 appearances in the Bundesliga for SV Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund, scoring 11 goals. He won the DFB-Pokal with BVB in 2021.

In Denmark, he helped FC Copenhagen win five national championships and won the Danish cup on four occasions. The 72-time Denmark international, who also made his country’s FIFA World Cup squad, will also bring his experience from 38 UEFA Champions League appearances to the Kraichgau.
