Tina Theune handed German Football Ambassador honorary award!

Tina Theune received the honorary award of the Association of German Football Ambassador e.v. during the FIFA Mentoring programs at the FIFA Museum.

The world champion and multiple European champion is considered one of the German pioneers of Women’s football and was honoured for their contribution to the positive image of Germany in the world. The honour took place in the circle of numerous international coaching personalities from women’s football, which took place at the final event of the one and a half year mentoring program of FIFA. A special surprise was for Tina Theune that she could lift the original FIFA Women’s World Cup once more, which she had won 20 years ago. Just like another ambassador of German football: the legendary goalkeeper Nadine Angerer, who came to Zurich at short notice and attended the ceremony.

Theune was presented with her award by the president of the non-profit association, Roland Bischof, who said, “We had appointed Tina Theune during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Sydney as a German Football Ambassador. It is all the more beautiful to be able to hand over this award today. She stands for women’s football like hardly any other.”

The honored was very happy about it and made a soulful thank you, in which she was modest at the center of her work.

During her work, Theune was not only involved in numerous commissions for FIFA, UEFA, DOSB or the DFB, but also worked together with this year Football ambassadors in the other categories Margret Kratz and Dzsenifer Marozsan.

The German Football Ambassador award has been handed out since 2013 and is associated with the promotion of social projects in now over 30 countries. In the future, social engagement will be implemented with the expertise of Common Goal – as well as global partners as the Federal Foreign Office or the Goethe Institute.
