Transform Specialist Medical Centre joins distinguished AFC Medical Centre of Excellence network!

The Transform Specialist Medical Centre became the latest addition to the world-class medical centres acknowledged by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

While the event took place on January 12, 2023, the recognition was originally bestowed upon the Centre in October 2019 with the ceremony scheduled to take place in March 2020. However, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to January 2023.

The official accreditation ceremony was attended by Dato’ Dr Gurcharan Singh, Chairperson of the AFC Medical Committee, Transform Specialist Medical Centre CEO & founder Dr. George John and other distinguished guests.

Renowned for delivering high performance fitness and wellness for individuals, sports professionals and corporate organisations, Transform Specialist Medical Centre focuses on several specialised fields including orthopaedics, sports medicine, physical fitness and nutrition.

In his keynote address, Dato’ Dr. Gurcharan said: “The Transform Specialist Medical Centre, Dubai will now on act as a referral centre for Asian football players.

“It will also, in collaboration with the AFC Medical Committee and other AFC Centres of Medical Excellence in Asia, promote to raise the standard of Football Medicine and care of players.”

He added that this is the first AFC Medical Centre of Excellence to be officially inaugurated in the UAE.

Professor Lord Kamlesh Patel, Baron Patel of Bradford, a Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom and Chairman of Board of Directors, Transform Global remarked: “It is an honour not only for Transform Specialist Medical Centre, but also for the city of Dubai to have received accreditation from the AFC. We will endeavour to work in partnership with the Confederation to provide the best medical care to footballers. ”

Launched in 2018, the AFC Medical Centre of Excellence delivers optimal healthcare to Asian footballers by recognising medical centres across the Continent that demonstrate leadership in clinical research, education expertise, injury prevention and management measures as well as means to improve sports medicine research.
