A rejuvenated Mohammedan Sporting Club Under-16 boys will be looking to maintain the momentum when they take on leaders Mohun Bagan U-16 in a Kolkata Zone encounter of the U-16 Youth League tomorrow.
Mohammedan Sporting are currently placed third in the table with 12 points and a record-setting 6-0 win against Southern Samity in the last match have boosted their confidence and are looking to keep the winning momentum going.
On the other hand, Mohun Bagan, who almost secured a final round berth with 17 points, have played a goalless draw against Sports Authority of India (East Zone) in their last match.
“Our journey so far has been a roller coaster ride as we have not been consistent with our wins. So we are looking to maintain consistency and when I say that, it means we are going for the win,” Mohammedan Sporting coach Murari Kar said.
This will be the first time when these two teams lock horns in the current season, however last season Mohammedan Sporting beat Mohun Bagan once with Surajuddin Munshi scoring the winner and the other one ended in a barren draw.
The Kolkata Zone encounter at the Mohun Bagan ground on the Kolkata Maidans kicks-off at 2:30pm on Friday.
