VfB Stuttgart loan Mahmoud Dahoud from Brighton & Hove Albion!

The 28-year-old midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud joins VfB Stuttgart on loan from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the current season. The two-time Germany international’s initial deal runs until June 30, 2024 and he will wear the number five shirt.

Mahmoud Dahoud made 162 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund (2017-2023) and Borussia Mönchengladbach (2010-2017) before his move to the Seagulls, as well as 30 outings in the UEFA Champions League, 19 in the DFB Cup and 11 in the UEFA Europa League. A former European Under-21 Championship winner, Mahmoud registered 13 goals and 33 assists during his first spell in Germany.

VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said, “We’re delighted that Mo Dahoud, a player who will make us even better, has opted to join us. Mo has already displayed his enormous footballing ability in the Bundesliga and on the international stage. We’re sure he’ll settle in quickly with us and will therefore prove to be a valuable addition to our game from the get-go.”

Mahmoud Dahoud said, “I’m really pleased the move to VfB has gone through. It’s nice to be playing in the Bundesliga again. VfB is a great club with a great tradition and wonderful fans. They play an exciting and impressive brand of football. I already know some of the players from the U21 national team.
