Angelo Stiller has joined VfB Stuttgart from TSG Hoffenheim after signing a contract valid until June 30, 2027. The 22-year-old will wear the number six jersey.
The Munich native is a graduate of Bayern Munich’s youth academy, but switched to Hoffenheim in summer 2021. He made 47 Bundesliga appearances for TSG and another five in the DFB Cup, scoring a total of four goals.
Stiller was part of FC Bayern’s reserve team that won the third division championship in 2019/20, while he also gained valuable experience with two outings in the UEFA Champions League. The 17-time Germany U-21 international worked under current VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß both at the FC Bayern academy and at Hoffenheim.
VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said, “We’re pleased that we’ve been able to sign such a talented central midfielder for our team. By bringing him in we’ve taken an important step in terms of reacting to the transfers over the past few days. At 22, he’s already an established Bundesliga player, but he still has plenty of potential for development. We’re delighted that Angelo will wear our jersey in the future and we offer him a warm welcome to Stuttgart.”
Angelo Stiller said, “I’m very happy about my move to VfB Stuttgart. As soon as I heard the club was interested I knew straight away that I only wanted to go to VfB. I’m excited by the fantastic fans, the stadium and the club’s rich history. I want to achieve great things with VfB and I’m sure that we’ll be successful together in the coming years. I’m proud to be able to wear the shirt with the hoop from now on.”
