VfB Stuttgart unveils Wohlgemuth and Labbadia!

VfB Stuttgart’s new sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth and head coach Bruno Labbadia introduced themselves to the media on Monday, December 12.

Ahead of the first public training session on Monday afternoon, new sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth and head coach Bruno Labbadia joined VfB Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle at an introductory press conference.

VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle said, “In terms of sporting matters, we’re very well set in terms of quantity and quality. As sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth will make decisions alongside the board and will work closely with the team together with Markus Rüdt, Thomas Krücken, Christian Gentner and Bruno Labbadia. Furthermore, Philipp Lahm and Sami Khedira will provide added expertise in an advisory and conceptual capacity. I’m very glad that Bruno Labbadia has taken on this situation with us. He’s a very meticulous coach with a lot of passion, who lives and breathes football.”

New VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said, “I’m pleased to be here. Anyone with goals and ambitions wants to get into the first division eventually. VfB Stuttgart is a club rich in tradition, with a vibrant fan culture and great economic power. I’m very excited about working towards a successful future together with everyone at VfB.”

New VfB Stuttgart head coach Bruno Labbadia said, “I’ve been following VfB’s journey in recent years and I’ve always had a good relationship with Stuttgart. I’ve obviously met a lot of new people at the office and on the staff over the last few days, but I’ve also seen a lot of familiar faces. That was really nice and says a lot about the continuity at VfB. We’ve been working together intensively since last Wednesday to get a quick overview of everything. Fabian Wohlgemuth and I met the team for the first time today. I’m a fan of statistics and I’ve already watched a lot of video material. We have a clear plan and know what to do. Now it’s down to all of us to see this plan through together. Part of that is working hard on the pitch, but at the same time, the enjoyment and pleasure of football should not be forgotten. It’s going to be a bumpy road but I’m looking forward to the challenge.
