VfL Bochum captain Anthony Losilla extends until 2025!

VfL Bochum 1848 and Anthony Losilla have agreed to extend the contract until June 30, 2025. Losilla, who has been a member of the first-team squad since 2014, has made 325 competitive appearances for VfL so far, including 80 games in the Bundesliga and 223 games in the Bundesliga 2. The Frenchman has 43 scorer points, 22 goals and 21 assists. He also scored the “Goal of the Month” in July 2017.

“Toto’s achievement year after year is exceptional and cannot be appreciated highly enough,” says Patrick Fabian. “We are proud to have such a personality in our ranks.” The VfL sporting director has played with Losilla himself and is “still deeply impressed by the professionalism he exemplifies, whether in training or in games.”

Marc Lettau, sporting director of VfL Bochum 1848, also focuses on this characteristic, “Every year Toto Losilla faces the competition, every year there is no way around him. This is all the more remarkable given that in one of the best leagues in the world, he consistently performs at the top level in a position with a lot of running and tackling, and also leads the team as captain.”

“I’ve always said that I want to play as long as my body allows,” said the 37-year-old. “I’ll have been at Bochum for ten years in the summer and I’m really looking forward to being able to go into an eleventh year as a player. I’m now the second-oldest outfield player in the Bundesliga – I didn’t think I’d reach such a mark one day. But now I’m going to do everything I can to ensure that we continue to play in the first division next year. Maybe I’ll even be the oldest current Bundesliga player,” says Anthony Losilla.
