VfL Bochum continues to expand its development work in Vietnam!

For over a year now, VfL Bochum has been running a football school in Ho Chi Minh City together with its partners Schächter Sports and VJSS. The work here has seen VfL Bochum successfully develop local coaches. Since the start in November 2021, VfL has been steadily expanding its programme and has grown its numbers of participants. At the moment it is enjoyinging ever greater attention. More than 60 children now take part in the VfL FOOTBALL SCHOOL’s digital training sessions every week.

“The feedback from the children, coaches and parents is excellent. Our programme is unique in Vietnam. The live digital sessions with immediate feedback for the children are enormously valuable and purposeful. Our participants are constantly improving and you can see great learning progress. The impact is extraordinary, and my team of trainers and I are always learning as well. We are all excited and can’t wait to go to Bochum,” says Hoai Anh, CEO of VJSS. With almost 2,000 children, VJSS runs one of the largest football schools in the country and is active not only in Ho Chi Minh but also in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi.

For the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic began, a group of players and coaches from VJSS will travel to Bochum early next year. In addition to attending the Bundesliga home match against SC Freiburg, the children and coaches will have the opportunity to take part in training sessions of the VfL- Talentwerk, get an exclusive guided tour of the stadium, meet former VfL professionals and can look forward to numerous other surprises. VfL will also be travelling to Vietnam shortly with a delegation to build further networks and connections on site.

“We are pleased about the great success of our measures in Vietnam and the steadily increasing interest. Numerous different media outlets regularly report on our activities locally and our fan parties in Ho Chi Minh are also becoming increasingly popular. We want to continue to expand this programme and look forward to many more events,” said Andreas Kluy, Head of Marketing at VfL Bochum 1848 and responsible for internationalisation at VfL Bochum.
