VfL Bochum enjoys a successful start in Japan!

After the great experience in Vietnam, VfL Bochum continues its work in Southeast Asia. Since last January, VfL Bochum has been working with its soccer school in Japan. Together with its partners Funroots and Schächter Sports, various digital training sessions have already taken place at multiple clubs and youth teams in Tokyo. More than 70 children have successfully enjoyed live digital training sessions so far with coaches from the VfL soccer school.

With current VfL Bochum pro Takuma Asano, our equipment supplier Mizuno and a long-lasting partnership with Teikyo University, VfL Bochum already has great connections in the Land of the Rising Sun. The club wants to further expand and strengthen these ties.

“We are very happy about our great start in Japan and want to further expand our local network. Especially through our already proven successful concept of youth soccer schools, we are succeeding excellently. The twinning of Bochum and Tsukuba is also an exciting development. Here, too, we want to try and build bridges through soccer,” says Andreas Kluy, Head of Marketing at VfL Bochum 1848 and responsible for reaching international markets at VfL Bochum.
