VfL Wolfsburg sign keeper Marius Müller!

VfL Wolfsburg have signed goalkeeper Marius Müller from second-division FC Schalke 04, making the 30-year-old the Wolves’ third new arrival for the 2024/25 season after keeper Kamil Grabara (FC Copenhagen) and midfielder Bence Dardai (Hertha BSC).

“We’re delighted that Marius will be joining VfL Wolfsburg for the new season,” said VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “He’s a team player with a calm and strong mentality. Marius knows German football and is the perfect addition to our goalkeeping team.”

“At my age, being given another opportunity to prove myself at this level is not something I take for granted,” added Müller. “It was always a big dream of mine to play in the Bundesliga – and I’ve moved a step closer to realising that. The appreciation I felt from the club during our talks has given me a very good feeling.”

Müller came through the youth ranks at 1.FC Kaiserslautern and made his first-team breakthrough with the Red Devils. After spells with RB Leipzig, where he played under current VfL boss Ralph Hasenhüttl, and FC Luzern, the 1.92m Heppenheim native joined Schalke 04 in summer 2023. The goalkeeper quickly became a key player and fan favourite in Gelsenkirchen, where he kept six clean sheets across 22 appearances in Bundesliga 2 and the DFB Cup.
