The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has recognised the consistent efforts of Vietnam’s PVF Academy with the renewal of its three-star membership under the AFC Elite Youth Scheme.
Based in Hanoi since 2017, the PVF Academy first received its three-star membership in September 2020 and under the visionary leadership of Technical Director Eric Abrams, has since established itself as one of the most reputed academies in Southeast Asia.
Besides boasting impressive training facilities that include a mini stadium, multiple grass as well as artificial football pitches, a gymnasium, and medical and rehabilitation rooms, the academy also places a strong emphasis on creating an environment that allows youngsters to remain on their educational journey while also partaking in activities such as music and language lessons, thereby ensuring their development as well-rounded individuals.
Moreover, the AFC Youth Panel assessors were pleased to see the academy’s adoption of several technological tools such as GPS tracking, video analysis and drone monitoring, underscoring its commitment to optimising player performance and development, while also featuring a coaching staff with a good balance of local and foreign coaches.
The assessors were further reassured to receive a comprehensive plan for the future, supported by key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Public Security and several sponsors, which will help the academy maintain its high standards in its pursuit to further enhance its Elite Youth Programme.
“The PVF Academy is delighted with the positive assessment of our elite youth programme. This recognition from the AFC is not only a validation of the relentless efforts of the PVF staff but it is also a boost for the programme to continue to improve and progress with a clear mission, vision and philosophy based on a holistic and inclusive methodology,” said Abrams.
“Moreover, the recognition is an incentive for other Vietnamese and Asian academies to step up and provide quality youth development programmes so that all talented players get the best opportunity to realise their potential.”
