West Bengal’s IFA is going to use new technology to improve the quality of refereeing. This technology is called ART (Advanced Review Technology) in joint venture with Jadavpur University.
The announcement was made at a press conference at the IFA office in Kolkata on Wednesday, August 28.
After four months of research, the research findings of Jadavpur University professors and students will be able to accurately determine whether the ball has crossed the goal line with the help of this new technology.
IFA Secretary Anirban Dutta said that this technology will be used experimentally in the Premier Division of the Calcutta Football League. If this technology is successful, it can be used in cases like off side, penalty in future. He said, this technology is very low cost.
For the first time in India, this kind of technology is going to be used in a football field. This is the first work related to football of Jadavpur University.
