With positives from Kolkata, Delhi Dynamos embarks on Doha pre-season second-leg!

Following a successful first leg in Kolkata, Indian Super League outfit Delhi Dynamos FC is set to embark for its second-leg of the pre-season, as they head to the world-renowned Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar.

The team had a 19-day training camp at the lush practice ground of the Saltlake Stadium and during that time, played two practice matches against Taltala Dipti Sangha and Peerless SC.

Kolkata has been the hub of football in India and a two-week camp here has certainly benefited the side as they look to adapt in Indian conditions ahead of the fifth edition of the ISL.

“Kolkata was the perfect pre-season experience which our players needed,” said Delhi Dynamos assistant coach Mridul Banerjee.

“Before we head out to train at the Aspire Academy, it was important for them to get conditioned in Indian surroundings after a long break. And even for our foreign players, it was really important to get acclimatised to play under such conditions. Both the matches were really important for us as it allowed us to assess our team,” Banerjee added.

The coach further elaborated, “With the CFL on, the atmosphere is really great for football in Kolkata. The recently concluded derby is just another example of how culturally rich Indian Football is. And it’s a big asset to train within such an atmosphere.”
