NEROCA sign former East Bengal centre-back Eduardo Ferreira!

I-League runners-up NEROCA FC have announced the signing of former East Bengal centre-back Eduardo Ferreira for the 2018/19 season.

34 year old Rio de Janeiro-born Eduardo Soares Ferreira was born in Brazil but was naturalized by African nation Equatorial Guinea for whom he played three international matches.

In his youth in Brazil, Eduardo played for Fluminense, Flamengo, Guarani, and Corinthians. He made his senior debut for Primavera before moving on to play for Anapolina and Grêmio Esportivo Anápolis.

He joined South African Premier Soccer League side Ajax Cape Town in 2007 and after two seasons with them he spend three years at Mamelodi Sundowns.

In 2012 he moved back to South America to join America Cali of Colombia. A year later Eduardo signed for Ratchaburi FC before returning to Brazil to play for Clube de Regatas Brasil. In 2014 he moved back to South Africa to play for Mpumalanga Black Aces before returning to Brazil to play for Macaé FC.

In 2015 he came to Asia for a second-time to play for Iranian club Esteghlal Khuzestan. From there he came to India for the first time to play for FC Pune City in the Indian Super League. After a decent campaign, Eduardo was signed by Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and a season later by East Bengal Club.

Now he signs for the third I-League club in NEROCA FC and moves to the Northeast.
