I-League runners-up NEROCA FC of Manipur have announced the signing of Italian goalkeeper Mauro Boerchio for the 2018/19 season.
29 year old Broni-born Mauro Boerchio played football in his native Italy before signing for AC Renate in 2008. He then spend time at FC Bari 1908 (twice), Calcio Lecco 1912, SSD Pro Sesto Calcio, FC Verbano Calcio, and Savona FBC before making an unlikely move to Amicale FC on the Pacific island of Vanuatu.
Thereafter he returned to Europe to play for Maltese side Gzira United, but in 2017 came to Asia to play for Ulaanbaatar City FC of Mongolia. In the first half of 2018, Mauro played for Maldivian Dhivehi Premier League side Maziya Sports & Recreation Club.
Now he comes to India to join his former coach Manuel Retamero with whom he worked successfully at Ulaanbaatar City FC.
