Refinement, style, elegance and dedicated graphics are the “ingredients” of the new, Special Edition Third Game shirt of FC Basel 1893, that is celebrating its 130th anniversary. Macron, technical partner to the “Rotblau”, has given this match kit an embossed pattern that plays on empty and full spaces to create a 3D effect and produce a stylistically unique and technically advanced garment.
Like all the shirts produced for partnered teams in the 2023-24 season, FC Basel 1893’s Third shirt is made exclusively from Eco Fabrics obtained entirely from recycled polyester. This ecologically responsible choice of material is perfectly in line with the aims of the “Macron 4 the Planet” project.
The new Special Edition Third shirt of FC Basel 1893 features an elegant, knitted polo neck with a button closure and a ‘total black’ colour with gold trim on the sleeve cuffs and bottom hem. The graphics of the new Third Game shirt once again adopt the symbol of the ‘Baslerstab’, the bishop’s crosier that graces the flag of Basel and that also decorates the sleeves of the club’s Home shirt. The symbol is represented by clear-cut lines reproduced over quite thick diagonal stripes using an “embossed” technique that uses empty and full areas to create a 3D look. The graphic forms diagonal bands on the front of the shirt. It creates diagonal bands on the back too, but in far larger proportions.
The inside neck label repeats the graphics of the shirt and reproduces the logo of FC Basel 1893, the Macron Hero and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at Macron’s Bologna HQ. The Macron Hero appears in gold on the right of the chest while a retro version of the FC Basel 1893 logo appears in gold against a black background on the left.
1893, the year in which the club was formed, is printed in gold on the back yoke. The shorts are black with gold drawstring tips. The shirt is a Slim Fit garment and is made mainly from Eco Light Sirena with a back panel and sleeves in Eco Micromesh for minimum weight and maximum breathability.
