The Hero Federation Cup will kick-off on Saturday, April 30 with the eight top Teams from the Hero I-League being eligible to play in it.
This means that champions Bengaluru FC, Mohun Bagan AC, East Bengal Club, Sporting Clube de Goa, Mumbai FC, Shillong Lajong FC, Salgaocar FC and relegated Aizawl FC complete the line-up while ninth-placed DSK Shivajians FC missing out of their first-ever Federation Cup participation.
As per the regulations of the Tournament, the lower ranked Teams are to play their Home match first.
Round One is scheduled to be played on April 30 and May 1/2; while Round 2 will be played on May 3 to 5, 2016.
The first round of the semifinals is to be played on May 7 and May 8 with the return legs slated for May 14 and 15.
The Final will be played on May 21.

30-Apr-2016 – Match 1: Aizawl FC [#8) vs Bengaluru FC (#1)
02-May-2016 – Match 2: Salgaocar FC (#7) vs Mohun Bagan AC (#2)

01-May-2016 – Match 4: Mumbai FC (#5) vs Sporting Clube de Goa (#4)
