The 2016 Nike U15 Premier Cup – All India Finals had another eventful day as two matches took place at the Duler Ground in Mapusa.
Local side Sporting Clube de Goa suffered their second defeat in a row, a 2-5 loss to Kolkata side United SC, who took the lead in the 20th minute through Sanjib Mondal and doubled it at the half-hour mark through Ram Hembram. Following a 2-0 lead at the break, United SC continued their domination with three further goals from Tarak Hembram (50′), Sudipta Malakar (63′) and Ram Hembram (68′). Sporting Goa could only pull two goals back through Doyal Alves (75′) and Aman Govekar (84′).
Meanwhile the Under-15s of I-League champions Bengaluru FC suffered a 0-1 loss to the junior of another I-League team in Aizawl FC. The Mizo boys were the better of the two sides but they were only able to score through Lalmuanzova Khawlhring in the 37th minute but it was enough for the three points.
It was Aizawl FC’s second win in as many matches.
