2017 FIFA Confederations Cup draw carried out in Kazan, Russia!

With a particular focus on the beauty of the four Russian Host Cities, the Official Draw for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup held at the Kazan Tennis Academy earlier today, November 26 and it revealed the path to the coveted trophy at next year’s Tournament of Champions.

The hosts Russia and Oceania champions New Zealand will kick things off on June 17 in Saint Petersburg, while Group A will also see UEFA Euro 2016 champions Portugal and 2015 CONCACAF Cup winners Mexico.

Meanwhile the opening fixture at the Spartak Moscow stadium will feature the first game of Group B, between the CAF African champion (to be known on February 5 in Gabon) and 2015 Copa América winners Chile, while 2015 Copa América winners champions Australia and 2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany will close the first round of the group stage in Sochi by the Black Sea.

The top two teams in each section advances to the semi-finals. Group matches will be held in Kazan, Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Sochi.

Kazan will host the first semifinal on Wednesday, June 28 between the winner of Group A and the runners-up of Group B. Sochi will host the second semifinal the next day between the winner of Group B and runners-up of Group A.

The match for third place takes place in Moscow at the Spartak Stadium on July 2 between the losers of those matches. The final will be played in Saint Petersburg at the Saint Petersburg Stadium later that evening.

The first general ticket sales phase for all 16 matches will start on Thursday 1 December via FIFA.com/tickets and will run until 19 January 2017.
