2018 FIFA World Cup – Group C: Denmark survive to draw Australia!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup continued on Thursday, June 21 afternoon with Denmark having to survive dangerous moments to draw Australia 1-1 at the Samara Arena.

Denmark had the better start as in the 7th minute an Australia turnover led to Nicolai Jörgensen finding Christian Eriksen, who placed the ball into the net for an early lead.

After a quick start, Denmark slowed down and allowed Australia to get into the match. And again VAR was involved in granting a penalty as Yussuf Poulsen handled the ball inside the box following a corner. Australia captain Mile Jedinek stepped up and send Kasper Schmeichel the other to way to equalise in the 38th minute. The match went 1-1 into the break.

In the second session, Australia were the more adventurous side but their finishing let them down as the match ended 1-1 with Denmakr happy to earn a point in the end.
