2022 Odisha Women’s League holds a closing ceremony!

The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) on Friday, March 11 held a closing ceremony for the 2022 Odisha Women’s League.

A exhibition match was held between new champions Odisha Police and the youngsters of Odisha Under-18, while the Police women won 5-0 with goals from Jasmani Samad (twice), Pyari Xaxa, Sayabati Khadia and Jabamani Tudu.

The match was followed by the closing ceremony and prize distribution ceremony, which was presided by Avijit Paul (Joint Secretary, FAO), the Chief Guest for the occasion was Bijayananda Nayak (Joint Secretary, Sports & Y.S Deptt. Govt. of Odisha) and Asirbad Behera (Honorary Secretary, FAO) was the guest of honour. Bhakta Ballav Das (Honorary Treasurer, FAO), Bijay Das (Vice-President, FAO), Dillip Kumar Sahoo (Vice-President, FAO), Hrudaya Ranjan Behera (Vice-President, FAO), Shuvendu Panda (OSD, Sports & Y.S. Deptt. Govt. of Odisha), and Gangadhar Behera (member, FAO).

After the end of this month long 2022 Odisha Women’s League, the Odisha Police women’s team became the champions and Sports Odisha team finished runners-up. Both these team have successfully qualified for the 2021/22 India Women’s League to be held later this month.
