The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the draw procedures for the upcoming African Games Accra 2023.
A total of 9 teams in the Men’s and 8 in the Women’s categories will be engaged in the official draw set to take place on Thursday, February 1 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The 13th edition of African Games will take place in Ghana’s capital of Accra between March 8 to 24, 2024.
For the men’s category, the CAF Executive Committee resolved that the eight quarter-finalists at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023, together with hosts Ghana, will qualify for the event.
In the women’s category, teams that participated in the fourth qualifying round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 will qualify for the Final tournament.
Teams to be engaged in the draw:
Men: Benin, Congo, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda.
Women: Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda.
