VIDEO: Kenya depart for India to participate in the Intercontinental Cup!

Despite Gor Mahia pulling out it’s six players from the Kenyan national football team, 15 Harambee Stars players departed the country early Wednesday, May 30 morning for India to take part in the 2018 Intercontinental Cup.

Gor Mahia’s Harun Shakava, Joash Onyango, Humprey Mieno, Francis Kahata, Phillemon Otieno and Boniface Oluoch opted out due to club commitments. This forced Coach Sébastien Migné to call up Zambia’s Buildcon FC duo of Cliffton Miheso and John Mark Makwatta, Tusker FC duo of Bryne Omondi and Timothy Otieno, Vihiga United’s Bernard Ochieng, Kariobangi Sharks’ Patilah Omotto and Thika United’s Dennis Odhiambo.

In the four nation invitational tournament Kenya will take on New Zealand, hosts India and Chinese Taipei. All these preparations are in build up for the AFCON qualifier match against Ghana in September 2018.
