The All India Football Federation (AIFF) condoles the death of Amarendra Sharan, who served as the Chairman of the Appeal Committee until he passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and son.
“It is extremely sad to hear that Mr. Amarendra Sharan is no more. We pray for his departed soul and may God give his family the strength to overcome the loss,” said AIFF general secretary Kushal Das.
An eminent lawyer, he was the Additional Solicitor General from 2004 to 2009. In 2008, he was presented with the prestigious award for “Outstanding Contribution for the development of Scientific Jurisprudence” by then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on National Law Day.
