The current India Under-16 boys squad which will play in the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be hosted by India will face the Odisha Under-16 boys in an exhibition match in Goa on Wednesday, April 27 as part of the national scouting program to find the best Under-17 boys for next years FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) has named an 18-member squad to face the India U-16 team. The FAO conducted a preparatory camp for the Odisha U-16 boys from March 28 to 30 in Cuttack where a total 61 boys participated in the trials. 31 players were shortlisted for the second round of the camp which was held from April 11 onwards, while the final 18 players were named after the final selection camp.
The Odisha U-16 State Team will be coached by Suraj Thapa, an AFC ‘C’ License Coach, when they take on the Nicolai Adam coached India U-16 national team.
