Odisha CAT-5 Referee Development Program inaugurated!

A CAT-5 Referee Development Program in Odisha was inaugurated by Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS (Principal Secretary, Govt. of Odisha) at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today.

This program is being jointly conducted by the Sports & Y S Deptt of Government of Odisha, the All India Football Federation and the Football Association of Odisha.

30 candidates from each district of Odisha state have been nominated, as there will be 90 candidates. This program will be conducted in three phases, starting from today and will conclude on January 30.

In response to this Asirbad Behera (Secretary, FAO) said, “It’s a great effort by the Dept of Sports & Y S Deptt. of Govt of Odisha for the development of Football Players of our state especially for those players who have retired from active football. This will certainly help those players whom want to pursue a career as Football Match Official and will also help them to earn a livelihood.”

Murti G. (Bengaluru), Pijush Biswas (Kolkata) and Susant Chandra
Mohanty (Odisha) are the instructors who will be conducting these courses and Durga Madhhab Naik (Head of the Referee – FAO) has been appointed as
the coordinator for this course.

In the inaugural ceremony Avijit Paul (Joint Secretary) was also present
along with Sailendra Jena (Dept. Secretary, Dept of Sports & Y S Deptt. of
Govt of Odisha).
