Achraf Laaziri extends his Olympique Lyonnais contract until 2027!

Olympique Lyonnais have announced the contract extension of its young defender Achraf Laaziri for one additional season until June 30, 2027.

Aged 19, the former student of the Rabat Fath Union Sport (FUS) had signed up for four seasons with OL last July. Author of his first minutes with the National 2 team, Achraf Laaziri then joined the professional group of Laurent Blanc during the 2 stages in Murcia, then Dubai at the end of 2022. The left back was also present in the group during the round of 16 of the French Cup match against Lille on February 8.

Olympique Lyonnais welcomes the extension of Achraf Laaziri and recalls that the emergence of the Moroccan U-20 international perfectly corresponds to the expectations set by both the club and the FUS Rabat, when their partnership was formalized in November 2019.

Jean-Michel Aulas said, “Achraf is a promising player. Thanks to this extra time, he is given the opportunity to progress further at OL. It is also the result of a strong and innovative partnership with FUS Rabat and we felt it was important to make it a little more concrete. I would like to thank and congratulate the FUS for identifying and training a talented player who is now just outside the professional group.”

Achraf Laaziri said, “I am very happy and very proud to extend my contract with OL. I want to thank FUS Rabat, who gave me everything, but also OL and its president who trusted me by having me sign with them. I feel really good in Lyon and I hope to make further progress.”
