Within the framework of the organization of CAF Interclubs competitions of the 2020/21 season, the additional player registration period has started and will end on the January 31, 2021.
Article 7 of Chapter V of the regulations governing CAF Interclubs competitions which stipulate the following:
“A National Association which has registered less than 30 players in July – May after the Second Preliminary, starting the 1st of January until the 31st of January, complete its list up to a maximum of 30 players, provided that the additional list does not exceed seven new players. The licenses of the newly added players (whose numbers will vary from 1 to 7), duly filled in accordance with the provisions of the present regulations, must be registered through the online system on 31st January at the latest and after that date the system will not accept any new license.”
In view of CAF Emergency Committee’s decision dated the 8th of November 2020 allowing each team to register 40 players, each club will be allowed to complete its list up to a maximum of 40 players while the number of players registered during the additional period does not exceed 7 new players.
Furthermore, CAF Emergency Committee’s decision dated the 23rd of January 2020 indicated that each club will be allowed to replace 4 players that are already on the list if and only if the said player did not participate with the club during the ongoing season. A player chosen as a substitute during a game but did not actually feature during the match will be considered as non-participating.
CAF Executive Committee approved the dates for the Interclubs competitions 2020/2021, with matches scheduled during the Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations and the Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. Consequently, no request of postponements will be approved in case of the participation of players registered with the clubs in either competition.
