AFC Asian Cup 2023: Tickets for grandest ever showpiece on sale now!

Tickets for the most eagerly anticipated Continental celebration of Asian football – the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 – are now available online for purchase. Following the historic group stage performance by Asian teams at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the focus of passionate fans across the globe will return to Qatar from January 12 to February 10, 2024.

Spectators can book seats for any of the 51 matches that will take place in Qatar, which includes the opening and final matches at Lusail Stadium – an 88,000-seat venue that hosted the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Prices for match tickets start from as low as QAR 25 (approximately USD6.8) to enable greater access for the millions of passionate Asian football fans who can now purchase tickets online at the-AFC.com.

With more than half of the world’s population within a five-hour radius of Qatar, travelling fans can also purchase tickets from the same website.

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John said: “Qatar is undoubtedly one of the best destinations in the world of sport and together with the Local Organising Committee, the AFC is committed towards bringing to life its Vision of staging a truly world-class competition for our players, teams and fans. The launch of ticket sales represents a significant milestone as we strive to engage more fans than ever before.”

Jassim Al Jassim, CEO of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Local Organising Committee, added: “The launch of ticket sales marks an important milestone for us, as Qatar gets ready to welcome fans from around the world once again. We anticipate that there will be tremendous interest in the tournament, which will see the best players from across Asia compete for glory.”

Nine stadiums will host the thrilling contests between the Continent’s top 24 teams across six groups. Seven of the venues previously hosted matches during Qatar 2022 – Lusail, Al Bayt, Khalifa International, Al Janoub, Ahmad bin Ali, Al Thumama and Education City stadiums. Two other stadiums – Jassim bin Hamad and Abdulla bin Khalifa stadiums – have been added to the roster of state-of-the-art facilities that will host the tournament.

Spectators will be able to book up to six tickets per match, subject to availability, and can choose to follow their favourite team through the Group Stage and into the Knockout round. All matches will have accessible seats available to ensure that disabled fans can enjoy a barrier-free experience. This includes wheelchair accessible seating as well as seats for people with limited mobility.

During this sales period, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and ticket purchases will be processed in real-time, subject to availability. The AFC and LOC recommend that fans purchase their desired tickets as soon as the sales phase opens, as tickets may sell out quickly.

Qatar will host the tournament for a historic third time, having hosted it twice before in 1988 and 2011. The reigning Asian champions have been drawn into Group A alongside China PR, Tajikistan and Lebanon.

The other groups that make up the field of 24 teams are Group B: Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria and India; Group C: Islamic Republic of Iran, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China and Palestine; Group D: Japan, Indonesia, Iraq and Vietnam; Group E: Korea Republic, Malaysia, Jordan and Bahrain; and Group F: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyz Republic and Oman.

Qatar’s compact nature and seamless connectivity means that the farthest distance between any two stadiums is 75km. This will enable fans to attend more than one match per day. Visiting fans will be able to stay in one venue throughout the tournament, as they make their way between stadiums using a modern road infrastructure and rail network.

Fans will be able to download the tickets to their digital wallets, meaning that internet connectivity is not required when presenting their digital tickets at the stadium.

This creates both a seamless and paper-free experience, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to delivering a sustainable tournament. Fans wishing to resell their tickets will be able to do so through the tournament’s official ticket resale platform.

Travelling fans can also benefit from the extensive and wide-ranging hospitality options made available by MATCH Hospitality Asia, the exclusive provider of the commercial hospitality programme for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™.

The hospitality programme will bolster fans’ experiences at Asia’s most prestigious men’s football competition by providing best-in-class services throughout the tournament. Additionally, MATCH Accommodation Asia will also be offering ticket and accommodation packages to fans wishing to benefit from an integrated purchase system for their trip.
