AFC contribution brings joy, helps restart football in flood-affected Central Vietnam provinces!

Thousands of football-loving students had reasons to smile after the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) helped restart the sport last month in five provinces heavily impacted by severe flooding and landslides.

Supported by the AFC Dream Asia Foundation, the VFF purchased football equipment that included goals, nets, bibs and markers for 100 schools in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam. These provinces in Central Vietnam had experienced prolonged and heavy rainfall since October 2020, causing numerous casualties and widespread damage.

The VFF had turned to the AFC for emergency relief funding in the hopes of supporting affected schools, re-establishing football activities and bringing some semblance of normality to students.

VFF representatives presented the equipment to provincial officials from the Education and Training Department.

The AFC Dream Asia Foundation provides a clear, efficient way of distributing aid to its Member Associations and Regional Associations. It evaluates the need for assistance and monitors ongoing project progress to ensure accountability and transparency.
