AFC President discusses with Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki plans to develop Asian football!

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa met Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Olympic Committee in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during his visit in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, Shaikh Salman extended a warm welcome to Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal and praised the clear progress of Saudi sport at all levels which helped strengthen its position regionally, continentally and internationally.

The AFC President reaffirmed the AFC’s commitment to maintain open and regular communication with the entire Asian sport family and underlined the AFC’s aim of maintaining strong ties with all the Member Associations (MA) to enhance the spirit of unity in the Asian football family and fulfil the shared aspirations of developing Asian football at all levels.

The AFC’s plans to grow the game through the AFC’s vision of becoming the leading Confederation, helping develop successful Asian teams and football remaining the number one sport on the Continent were also detailed. There was an additional update on the AFC’s programmes supporting the MAs as well as information on other important developments in Asian football.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Shaikh Salman for the hospitality and warm reception and added that the discussions were held in the best interests of Asian football. The meeting was also attended by Yasser Hassan M Almisehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, and Dato’ Windsor John, the AFC General Secretary.
